Twelfth for Excel
Twelfth for Excel brings Twelfth into the workbook you’re already in. It adds Twelfth to the Home tab, which opens a pane beside the sheet. It works in Excel on Windows, Mac and the web.
Install
Your Microsoft 365 admin adds the add-in for your team in the Microsoft 365 admin centre → Settings → Integrated apps, using the manifest at https://twelfth.ai/office/manifest.xml. After that, Twelfth appears on the Home tab for everyone it’s assigned to.
- Select Twelfth on the Home tab.
- Select Approve in your browser. Twelfth opens in the browser you already use, so you don’t sign in again.
- Choose the workspace and what the add-in may read. To manage tasks from Excel, turn on Allow changes (see Extensions). Select Allow access.
- Go back to Excel. The pane is ready.
If your Microsoft 365 account is linked to Twelfth (you sign in with Continue with Microsoft), Excel signs you in by itself on your other devices after the first time.
Sign in here instead uses Excel’s own sign-in window when the browser isn’t an option.
Data: Twelfth in the workbook
Add to the workbook puts Twelfth data on a new sheet as an Excel table. To put it at the selected cell instead, change this in the pane’s Settings → General. You can add:
- Tracked set: one row per product. It shows our price and average, then each competitor’s latest price, average, price index (100 is parity) and stock. Choose the basis: last seen, or a 4, 8 or 12-week average.
- Products: your range, optionally filtered by name, brand or SKU. Order it by low cover, open findings, fastest selling or name.
- Open actions: your tasks, with due dates and links.
- Projects: live projects with stage, owner and overdue tasks.
Figures are numbers, so they sum, average, chart and pivot. GP% is a real percentage. Prices are in your workspace’s currency, which the column header names. A figure Twelfth hasn’t measured is an empty cell, never 0. Each row links back to Twelfth. Up to 1,000 rows come in at a time.
In this workbook lists every table that came from Twelfth. Refresh reads the current version into the same table, in the same place. Pivot tables, charts and formulas that point at it keep working. Refresh all refreshes every one. The list is saved in the workbook, so it’s there when you or a colleague open the file again.
Fill figures beside SKUs
- Select a column of SKUs in your sheet.
- In Fill figures beside SKUs, choose the figures: name, supplier, stock, on order, cover, velocity, units for the last 4 weeks and year, GP%, price or open findings.
- Select Fill beside selected SKUs. The figures go in the columns to the right, with headers above if there’s room. A SKU Twelfth can’t read for you shows Not found in Twelfth.
The pane asks before it writes over cells that already have data.
Send back to Twelfth
With Allow changes on, select rows in an Open actions table and choose Mark selected actions done. Twelfth closes those tasks, then refreshes the table.
Today
The Today tab shows what’s overdue, due today and due this week, in your workspace’s calendar.
- Search looks through all your open actions.
- With Allow changes on, tick the circle to mark an action done, or use the clock to snooze it until tomorrow or next week.
- Add all open actions to a sheet puts them in the workbook as a table.
Ask
- Ask Twelfth opens a new Twelfth chat with your question filled in. If you tick Include the selected cells, up to 25 rows and 8 columns of the selection go with it. Nothing is sent until you press send in Twelfth.
- Create a task in Twelfth (with Allow changes on) makes a task for you, with the selected cells as its details.
Settings
The gear in the pane opens:
- General: where new tables go, whether Today shows your actions or everyone’s, and whether it refreshes every 15 minutes.
- Appearance: match Excel’s light or dark theme in your Twelfth palettes (the default), match your Twelfth theme, or choose Light, Oatmeal, Dark, Midnight or Plum.
- Account: the workspace, who you’re signed in as, the version, Manage in Twelfth and Sign out.
Privacy and access
The add-in reads only through your own connection: your workspace, your role, your remits. It stores its sign-in in Excel’s add-in storage on that device, and the table list in the workbook. End it any time in Settings → AI & agents in Twelfth.
