AI and agents

Open Settings → AI & agents to choose the AI chat tools your team uses and to connect a compatible assistant to the active workspace over MCP. Connections are read-only.

Your AI chat providers

Pick the external AI chats your team actually uses — for example Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini — and set a default AI chat provider. Twelfth uses this to keep its “Ask” menus tidy: they show your default provider alongside Twelfth’s own assistant and a Copy prompt option, rather than every provider at once. This is a display choice and grants no access on its own — connecting an assistant still needs an API key.

Before you start

Only workspace owners and admins can create or revoke keys. Keep keys secret.

Connect an assistant

  1. Open AI & agents and choose your assistant.
  2. In Keys & options, label the connection and select Generate key.
  3. Copy the key immediately. Twelfth shows a newly created key only once.
  4. Return to Setup and follow the instructions for that assistant.
  5. Paste the supplied endpoint and bearer key into its connector settings.
  6. Save the connection, then ask the assistant to list its tools.

Setup guides by assistant

Each assistant has its own Setup tab in the product, and a guide here:

Available MCP tools

The current connection can:

  • Get workspace identity and operating defaults.
  • List workspace members and their roles.
  • List open actions, including due dates, assignees, and available source context.

These tools cannot write data or make changes in Twelfth.
