The easiest way to use Twelfth in the Claude Desktop app is the same one-click add as on claude.ai. Connectors you add in Claude are available in the desktop app too. The connection is read-only.
Add Twelfth to Claude Desktop
- Open Twelfth in Claude’s directory and add it. In Twelfth, Settings → AI & agents → Add to Claude opens the same page.
- Sign in to Twelfth when Claude asks, choose the workspace and the read tools, and approve.
- Open Claude Desktop. Twelfth is in its connectors; ask Claude what Twelfth can do to confirm.

Advanced
Connect with a key and a local MCP config
For a setup that cannot sign in, owners and admins can connect Claude Desktop with a key instead.
- In Twelfth, open Settings → AI & agents, go to the Settings tab and, under API keys, choose Connect an agent → Claude Desktop. Twelfth creates a key for this connection, copies it to your clipboard, and starts waiting for Claude Desktop’s first request. Copy the key now if you need it again: Twelfth shows it only once.
- In Claude Desktop’s MCP settings, add a server pointing at the Twelfth endpoint shown on the connection’s row, with the key Twelfth just copied for you.
- Restart Claude Desktop, then ask it to list Twelfth’s tools to confirm the connection.
The connection’s row in Twelfth carries the current endpoint and the ready-to-paste MCP server entry for your workspace.
