Shopify
Shopify is Twelfth’s live commerce connector, in the Commerce category
and reached from Settings → Integrations → Shopify. It reads orders,
products and inventory from your store over a read-only connection —
Twelfth never writes back to Shopify.
Shopify is the only connector with a live install flow you can complete
yourself. Only workspace owners and admins can connect or disconnect a
store, and the option only appears where Shopify is configured for the
environment.
Connect a store
- Open Settings → Integrations → Shopify.
- Enter your store’s
*.myshopify.comdomain (e.g.your-store.myshopify.com). - Choose Connect. Twelfth validates the domain, then sends you to Shopify’s
consent screen. - Approve the read-only scopes on Shopify. You’re returned to Twelfth and
the store shows as Connected.
The store’s domain is strictly validated against *.myshopify.com before
anything happens — that value decides which Shopify host the install runs
against.
One store, one workspace
A Shopify store can be connected to only one Twelfth workspace at a time. If
you try to connect a store another workspace already holds, the connect dialog
shows a warning and stops — no duplicate connection is created. Twelfth checks
this before the consent screen, so you’re never sent through Shopify only to
be turned away at the end.
To move a store to a different workspace, an owner or admin first disconnects it
from the workspace that holds it (its Manage → Disconnect), then connects it
here. This keeps a single, unambiguous owner for each store’s read-only sync.
Security and guarantees
Twelfth requests read-only Shopify scopes and never writes to your store.
The access token Shopify issues is encrypted at rest and is never returned
to the browser.
- Read-only scopes only — Twelfth reads orders, products and inventory and
cannot change anything in Shopify. - Tokens encrypted at rest, and never exposed to the browser or logs.
- Strict domain validation — only
*.myshopify.comdomains are accepted. - One store per workspace, enforced and checked up front.
Manage or disconnect
Return to Settings → Integrations → Shopify and choose Manage to see the
connected store and its details, or Disconnect to remove it. Disconnecting
revokes the connection; you can reconnect the store to this or another workspace
afterwards.
