Signing in

Signing in

Open twelfth.ai/login. You can sign in any of these ways, and an invited colleague can use whichever suits them:

Method Where it is on the login page Setup needed
Continue with Microsoft On the front of the login page, beside Google None. Use any Microsoft work or school account (Microsoft 365 / Entra ID)
Continue with Google On the front of the login page None. Use any Google account, including Google Workspace
Passkey See other login methods Add one first in Security & access
Email and password See other login methods Set when you sign up or accept an invitation
Single sign-on See other login methods → Continue with single sign-on Your workspace admin connects your identity provider. Enterprise plan; see Single sign-on & SCIM

The method you used last time is the one the login page puts first, marked Last used.

Sign in with Microsoft

If your company runs on Microsoft 365, choose Continue with Microsoft and pick your work account. Nobody has to set anything up first: no admin step in Twelfth and no app registration in your Entra tenant.

  • Work or school accounts only. Personal Microsoft accounts (outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com) are not accepted.
  • Microsoft asks which account to use every time, so if you have a seat in more than one organisation you never end up signed in as the wrong one.
  • Your existing Twelfth account is reused when the email matches and your organisation has verified its email domain in Microsoft Entra. That is the case for a normal company tenant. If the domain is not verified, Microsoft sign-in still works, but it creates a separate identity and asks you to confirm your email first. See Security & access for why.
  • Accepting an invitation works the same way: open the invitation link, choose Continue with Microsoft, and sign in with the address the invitation was sent to.
Your Entra admin may need to approve Twelfth once

Some organisations block employees from signing in to new apps until an administrator approves them. If Microsoft shows Need admin approval, ask your IT team to grant consent for twelfth sign-in. It asks only for your basic profile: name, email address and photo.

Sign in with Microsoft vs single sign-on

They both use your Microsoft account, but they are different things:

  • Continue with Microsoft is for each person. It works for anyone with a work account, on every plan, with no setup.
  • Single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID is for the whole workspace. An Entra administrator registers Twelfth as an enterprise app, so everyone on your email domain is sent to Entra, your conditional-access and MFA policies apply, and SCIM can add and remove people automatically. It is part of the Enterprise plan.

Start with Continue with Microsoft. Move to single sign-on when you want your directory to control who has access.

See and manage your sign-in methods

Settings → Account → Sign-in methods lists the providers attached to your account. A provider is added the first time you use it to sign in. See Security & access.
