Read Google files into Twelfth

Read Google files into Twelfth

Share the file with Twelfth as Viewer, then link it where you intend to use
it. Sharing and access explains
how Twelfth confirms the file belongs to this workspace.

A planning calendar

Open Settings → Calendars, add or choose the calendar, then select
Google Sheets · shared with Twelfth. Choose the workbook and tab, review
its preview, and correct the Reads as column mapping before confirming.

Every populated row must pass the calendar’s checks. Promotion rows need a
product SKU or a range under Affects; trading calendars can hold public
holidays and other dated events. The sheet becomes the source of truth.
Linking populated data does not merge it with old local calendar entries.
See Calendars for fields, scope and setup.

Calendar sources are read when needed and refreshed while their calendar view
is open. Edit the sheet in Google; Twelfth reads it on the next successful
refresh. This is inbound sync, not publication back to Google.

A target plan

Open Performance → Targets → Add target plan, then Connect sheet.
Choose a Google workbook and target tab, read the columns and confirm their
mapping.

Sources are read hourly, or with Sync now. Changed figures stage a revision
under Review changes. An administrator activates the revision before it
replaces the active targets. Unchanged reads create no revision; a source error
preserves the last active targets. See Sales and performance targets.

A document for the assistant

Open Artefacts → Link a file and paste the shared file’s link. Check its
name and readability, choose the whole workspace or a remit, and explain what
it is useful for. Workspace admins can link anywhere; remit owners can link
within their own remit.

File Read as AI context
Google Sheet Text from up to 12 tabs and 2,000 rows per tab.
Google Doc or Slides Exported text.
Plain text, CSV or JSON The file’s text.
Word (.docx) or PowerPoint (.pptx) Text and tables; images and speaker notes are not read.
Linked PDF, image or Excel file in Drive No context-text extractor for these linked files. Convert to a supported Google format, or upload an Excel workbook as a static file on Artefacts.

Context snapshots refresh when more than an hour old and the assistant needs
them. Choose Refresh on the file to read it again now. Large snapshots may
be truncated. A context file supplies background text; it does not configure a
calendar or target plan merely because it contains dates or target figures.

See Artefacts for visibility, uploads and file management.

A spreadsheet attached to a chat or project

Spreadsheet pickers can find eligible files in Google Drive, or accept a pasted
link. An attachment is read for that chat or project flow. It does not
establish ongoing calendar or target sync. Access and workspace ownership are
still checked before a shared Google file is read.
