Google templates and spreadsheet destinations
Google templates and spreadsheet destinations
Give Twelfth Editor access only for a flow that needs to write. The file
must still pass the workspace sharing checks.
Create a calendar template
In Settings → Calendars, choose a shared Google Sheet and Start with a new
tab. Name it and choose Create tab and sync. Twelfth adds the headers,
writes any existing local calendar entries, and links the tab as the source.
A blank or header-only existing tab can also be filled during setup, using the
mapping shown. A populated tab is not overwritten by this setup flow. After
the link, your team edits Google and Twelfth reads it; it does not keep writing
calendar rows back.
With Viewer access, add the tab yourself: use Copy template headers, paste
into A1 in Google Sheets, then select that tab in Twelfth. See Calendars.
Create a target template
In Performance → Targets, choose Create linked template, select your
customer-owned workbook and choose Create template & link. Twelfth adds a
new target tab and keeps existing tabs intact. Enter figures in Google, sync,
review the changes and activate the revision.
Template creation needs Editor access; reading an existing target source needs
only Viewer access. You can also download Excel or CSV and prepare the sheet
yourself. See Sales and performance targets.
Deliver decisions to a spreadsheet
A spreadsheet destination
is an ongoing writing connection. Owners and admins choose which committed
decisions it receives, where rows land, what each column means and when it runs.
It can write a Google Sheet or an Excel workbook kept in Google Drive. This is
separate from the Microsoft 365 Excel connection. Editor access is required.
Choose between tabs Twelfth creates, an existing working tab, or an upload
template whose columns must stay exactly as they are. Review the mapping and
preview before Link and deliver, which starts real delivery in the
background. See Destinations.
Documents remain read-only
Giving a context document Editor access does not make the assistant edit it.
The document-linking flow reads text snapshots. To publish decisions, configure
a destination; to change a calendar or target source, edit it in Google.
