Google Chat
Google Chat is a Comms & chat provider — a place Twelfth
posts to, not a system it reads from. Reach it from Settings → Comms & chat →
Google Chat. Only workspace owners and admins can connect or disconnect it.
Connect Google Chat
Choose Connect Google Chat and complete Google consent. Google Chat uses the
same shared Google grant as the other Google integrations, so connecting it adds
a scope to that one grant.
Manage
Once connected, open Manage to reach the Google Chat integration page:
- Connected as — the Google identity and the number of spaces Twelfth can see.
- Spaces — search the spaces Twelfth can post to. A space only appears here once the Twelfth app has been added to it or @mentioned — add the app from the space’s menu in Google Chat, then return here.
- Danger zone — Disconnect Google Chat removes the Chat permission.
If the status reads Bot not configured — cannot post yet, the Twelfth Google Chat app has not been set up for your environment. Connect the grant, then contact Twelfth to finish enabling posting.
Twelfth keeps a single Google grant per workspace. Disconnect Google on the Integrations page revokes that grant, which disconnects Google Chat along with Search Console and Merchant Center. Disconnecting Google Chat here removes only the Chat permission.
