Supplier timeline
Supplier timeline
The Timeline tab is your team’s memory of a supplier: what someone learned, what was asked of Twelfth AI, and what was decided and why. Everything sits in one list, newest first and grouped by day.
It holds three kinds of entry:
- Notes that anyone on the team adds.
- Chats with Twelfth AI that are linked to this supplier.
- Decisions on this supplier’s lines, with the reason written at the time. Decisions appear when your workspace has decision history switched on.
The tab’s label shows how many entries there are, for example Timeline (4).
Adding a note
Select Add note and write what you just learned: a new cut-off time, a rep who has changed, a minimum that the supplier now enforces. You can:
- add tags such as
moq, closureorcontact. Tags you have used on this supplier before, and suggested ones, are offered as you type; - attach files up to 10 MB each. Attachments also appear in Artefacts.
A note is added at the current time, at the top of the timeline. Notes cannot be backdated, edited or deleted: the timeline only grows, so it stays a record of what was known when. If something changes, add a new note.
Finding something
- Search looks through notes, decisions and chats.
- The All / Notes / Decisions / Chats filter narrows the list to one kind, with a count on each.
- Select a tag on any note to show only entries with that tag.
- Decisions has its own period, the last 12 months by default.
These filters reset when you leave the page.
Reading an entry
Select an entry to open it. Only one is open at a time.
- A note shows its full text, tags, attachments and reactions.
- A decision shows when it was made, in which remit, the rationale as written (or “No reason was written.”), how many lines went against the recommendation, and what happened next. Open decision goes to the full decision.
- A chat has Open chat to go back to the conversation.
When a supplier has a long decision history, the timeline shows the most recent decisions and links to Decisions for the rest.
The timeline records what was decided and why. It does not say whether a decision worked out; the Activity tab’s pipeline and Decisions on their lines are where you read how decisions on a supplier tend to go.
Asking Twelfth AI
Twelfth AI reads the same timeline. Ask “what have we noted about Banter’s ordering cut-off?” or “why did we override the last Nintendo order?”, and it answers from the notes and decision reasons recorded here.
